Every month we are choosing a company we have worked with/are continuing to work with to be our Employer of the Month.

The companies we choose will reflect not only our core business values, but are businesses we admire for their continued commitment to the professional development of their staff and giving young people great career opportunities.

We are very pleased to announce that this month’s "Employer of the month" award goes to The Baywater Heathcare!

Baywater Healthcare have been a pleasure to work with, they have been supporting Apprentices for some time now and see the schemes advantages of developing young people to become their future workforce. Everyone involved has been great throughout the process and we enjoy working with companies that have the enthusiasm about Apprenticeships and staff development as Baywater does.

Baywater Healthcare are a leading provider of in-home services to patients with long term conditions. Serving over 25,000 patients across the UK and headquartered in Cheshire the company employees over 220 people. The business specialises in providing therapies to support patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Sleep Apnoea and a broad range of other respiratory related conditions. Their services include installation and supply of Home Oxygen Services and Continuous Positive Airways Pressure technologies (CPAP).

Baywater Healthcare are a key provider to the NHS and have over 10 years’ experience of supporting patients and clinical staff. High quality patient care is at the core of their company values, recognising the responsibility they have to support and enhance the lives of many vulnerable people.

Baywater took on its first apprentices in 2014, who have now completed their training and are now employed in full time positions maintaining and verifying medical devices.

Let Alliance understand the value of staff trainging and supporting their workforce by introducing the Apprenticeships to their team. Everyone has beeing fully engaged and committed to the process and a real pleasure to work with.

Let Alliance provide specialist services in the private rental sector; intelligent referencing and insurance solutions for letting agents, along with specialist buildings and contents insurance for their tenant and landlord customers.

Let Alliance was launched in 2011 by a group of like-minded professionals who had worked together in the property industry over a number of years. A start up business with no customers has grown over the last 6 years into the established business it is today, serving over 1,000 letting agent customers.

We are very pleased to announce that this month’s "Employer of the month" award goes to RSK!

RSK has been a pleasure to work with, they showed a very keen interest in staff training and understand the importance of this for their staff development. Everyone we have spoken with at RSK have been incredibly helpful and 100% focused during the implementation of the training and during assessor meetings.

Amy, who is undertaking a business administration apprenticeship comments,

“I’ve found Knowledge Share to be very helpful. Our assessor visits us on a regular basis and he’s been great. As someone who hasn’t done any business qualifications before, I’ve found it a really good way of learning. I’m looking forward to developing my skills further through the work-based learning”.

 

Janette, who is working towards her management apprenticeship says,

“There’s on online system that means we can upload our work and our assessor can review and comment on it. It’s really useful because you can access it at any time. The course has given me a real confidence boost, getting positive feedback has reaffirmed how much I do know”.

We are very pleased to announce that this month’s "Employer of the month" award goes to Connex Education!

Connex are a pleasure to work with, take a professional approach to the apprenticeship scheme and knew exactly what they wanted in an Apprentice. They have offered a fantastic position for Ellie to get stuck in to, learning everything she need to complete the job and have given her a clear and real career path with progression.

Connex Education is a high quality, service-led education supply agency which puts its people - not its profit - first. We concentrate on finding the right people, with the right skills and attitudes, for our schools. We hand-pick our staff, put them on our own payroll, and give them the same dedicated attention and support that we give our schools. Connex approached Knowledge Web Ltd with a view to employing a new apprentice. From the start Martin was interested in the requirements of Connex and would fit the apprentice to them. Four candidates were put forward, all of which had some knowledge of the work required or the interest in progressing in Business administration. All attended interview and presented themselves well. Quality of the candidate was very good and the apprentice Ellie Scott who accepted the position has been outstanding. The assessors have followed up with visits and are very supportive to Ellie and her expectations. - Karen Verdin

We are very pleased to announce that this month’s "Employer of the month" award goes to Fearlesss!

Fearlesss began at the end of 2011, a hobby to keep a fashion crazy mum of three sane whilst raising three mischievous little monkeys less than four years apart. Fast forward through to 2016 and what had started as a hobby has, through lots of hard work and thousands of loyal customers boomed into a huge online women’s fashion store with over 393,000 followers on Facebook alone.

We aim to bring fresh, girly and fabulous fashion to thousands of gorgeous women, spreading and inspiring confidence, self-worth and independence to all of our customers at an affordable price!

After expanding at such a fast rate and continuing to do so we are now located on the outskirts of Manchester complete with a large warehouse, studio, offices and dynamic work force. If you visit our headquarters you will find our space filled with hard work, good music, camera snaps, overflowing new lines and laughter.

After joining the apprenticeship scheme in 2016 with Knowledge Web we have now employed two lovely ladies who have joined our marketing and customer service team, getting stuck in with the job roles and providing valuable assistance to all areas of the company alongside completing their qualifications for their individual apprenticeships.

Everyone at Fearlesss have been great and a pleasure to work with, they are taking on young talented individuals and offering them a fantastic career within the fashion industry and company.

We are very pleased to announce that this month’s "Employer of the month" award goes to Ian Tonge!

Ian Tonge is a multi-award winning Estate Agency, winning the best Estate Agent of the year award for Cheshire at the UK property awards for a record five consecutive years.

Ian Tonge’s have been trading for over 50 years, covering the whole of the Stockport area and High Peak with high street offices based in Great Moor, Hazel Grove and High Lane/Disley.

The company is run by Jason Tonge and his father Ian, who play an active role in the day to day running of the business. The business is supported by key members of staff who have worked in the industry for many years and have a wealth of knowledge and experience enabling us to provide a dynamic approach to selling houses.

We are very pleased to announce that this month’s "Employer of the month" award goes to Love Umbrellas!

We are Love Umbrellas, we make beautiful brollies to cheer up dreary days! We ship them all over the world, and stock in small boutiques in the UK.

They're great for weddings, trips to the races, or for every day use too.

Love Umbrellas was born in 2011 after I made some umbrellas for my friend's wedding, the demand grew, and it all started from there.

We have recently opened a small retail space and workshop above a bridal boutique in Rossendale, Lancashire - It rains a LOT here, so there's lots of demand!

The experience with Knowledge Web has been fantastic so far, from the enquiry, to job description, candidates, interviews, and the signing up of our apprentice to the NVQ - It's been faultless, thank you!

Richard Lowth & Company, are a family run independent estate agents with offices in Cheadle Hulme & Poynton area and who act in the sale and rental of property around the district.

They have been open since 2003, originally with just Richard & Janet and progressed gradually. They have a small, very loyal and extremely hands on team who need to have a good knowledge of all aspects of this very varied business.

Good communication skills and bundles of common sense are essential to deal with the range of day-to-day enquiries in which comes our way along with dealing with the many all-important negotiations.

"Staff recruitment has always been of issue like many small businesses it’s always a debate whether to go for the perceived easy option of a candidate with experience but having been along that route and failed miserably. We decided to try the apprenticeship scheme. Brown & Bancroft Interiors Ltd is an independent fit-out and refurbishment specialist based in the North West. Owned and managed by Paul Brown, Jill Bancroft and Neil Fidler, the company promises a personal approach and total commitment to the outstanding delivery of interiors projects across the region.

Operating in all key business sectors including commercial office, retail, leisure, health and higher education, Brown & Bancroft has a proven track record of successfully completing schemes for the likes of Bruntwood, Ernst & Young, North West Ambulance Service, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Latham & Watkins and Bolton Market Place to name a few. In the past year the team has won in excess of 30 projects and delivered more than 400,000 sq ft of space on time, to budget and to the complete satisfaction of the client.

In 2015 Brown & Bancroft teamed up with Knowledge Web - Apprenticeships and launched its first apprenticeship scheme, a 12 month programme designed to give trainees Emma Hesden and Ryan King a valuable insight into all aspects of the business.

Ryan King, commercial assistant at Brown & Bancroft, added: “Accepting an apprenticeship with Brown & Bancroft was an easy decision for me, I really felt that getting straight into a business and gaining real hands on experience was key to building a promising career for myself. Brown & Bancroft is a really exciting company to be a part of and I already feel I have learnt so much. At the moment I am concentrating on working with the commercial team so I have been heavily involved in compiling the pricing documents and tenders, but I look forward to broadening my knowledge base when the time comes to try my hand at a different area of the business.”
